Songs of experience and innocence

Fragmento de canciones de experiencia e inocencia

PAGE 8

Panel 1
We can see a 24x7 shop. Inside of the shop a child is standing in front of ready meals. It is snowing.

Right top: “Christmas Eve, Edinburgh, 1999”
Man (just his voice as a narrator’s captions inside of box): What we did was wrong. I am not trying to justify our acts. We must repent and pay for them. We will die today for those sins. But…

Panel 2
Close-up of child’s face. He is crying.

Man: Worse people than vampires walk outside every day. They cause worse damage. They enjoy seeing the others suffering, they enslave them. There are other instincts than eating, ones far more basic… instincts whose nature is linked to pure hate, pain and destruction.

Panel 3
The child is paying, tears still on his face. The guy who receives the money is not really looking his customer. Even so, he says.
Shop’s owner: Merry Christmas…
Man’s voice: Bad things happened all time, even without our species. Especially to the ones who do not have the strength to stop it, the ones who cannot change their lives.

Panel 4
The child walks through in an alley… quite similar to the one in the first page, but now there is snow everywhere… at the end of the alley, stands a woman reading, she is the vampire and she’s got a note book.
Man’s voice: The ones who have nobody to talk about what´s going on in their houses, in their rooms.
Panel 5
The child sees her and hears her in the distance.
Woman:
“…'One who sets reason up for judge
Of our most holy mystery.'

Panel 6
The bag with food and the child’s hand in this panel
Woman:
“The weeping child could not be heard,
The weeping parents wept in vain:”
Man’s voice: You saw it, did not you?

Panel 7
They are getting close.
Woman:
“They stripped him to his little shirt,
And bound him in an iron chain,”

Panel 8
Even closer in this panel. The child keeps walking and he does not look afraid.

Panel 9

She shows her fangs to the child

Panel 10
The child looks without panic. But, he is sad.
